The SCS National Conference, a unique networking and learning event for the growing family of co-operative schools, will take place at Conference Aston, Birmingham on Thursday 13 November, with the theme ‘Co-operative Schools – Realising the potential’.
The event will showcase how schools are using co-operation and co‑operative values to address the challenges of a rapidly changing education system. Key themes include case studies of:
- Co-operation and collaboration for sustainable school improvement.
- Values in practice – co-operative pedagogy.
- Making it work – developing stakeholder engagement.
- Managing curriculum and wider change.
Places are limited so book early to reserve a place. There are ‘early bird’ discounts for schools booking before the 30 September and for those who are members of the Schools Co-operative Society
If your school has recently converted to a co-operative Trust school or co-operative Academy or is due to convert during the autumn term you can benefit from the member discount by applying for membership at the same time as your booking. This is easy – schools that were converted by the Co-operative College are pre-approved and simply need to complete their application form.
A form is available on the SCS website at www.co-operativeschools.coop/membership/application_form_schools.
The conference is also open to schools that are interested in becoming a co-operative school.
