Following the recent publication in The Times Educational Supplement of ’100 Books that every child should read before leaving secondary school’, as chosen by teachers across the UK in the summer of 2015, Essex co-operative school Brentwood County High School has introduced the Literacy Student of the Week Award.
Every week, 8 students will be selected by the school’s Directors of Learning.
The students will be able to choose a book from the list, which they are able to keep and is inscribed by the school as a keepsake.
Stephen Drew, Headteacher said: “I am really looking forward to meeting with the winners each Friday when they will come and choose a novel as their prize to enjoy and keep. There are some truly wonderful titles on this list and I am sure our students will enjoy reading them.”
